Amy Harmon, Psy.D.
Dr. Amy J. Harmon is a licensed psychologist who works with patients of all ages. Dr. Harmon is part of the Kerzner Integrated Care (KIC) team and provides services within Milford Physicians Regional Group Primary Care Offices, in addition to seeing patients at our main office in Foxboro.
Dr. Harmon delivers care in a holistic and strength-based modality that includes patients and family members as active players in treatment. She uses therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, mindfulness, relaxation exercises, clinical hypnosis, and biofeedback to address medically related psychological challenges. She is well versed in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), play therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), all of which are used as part of integrative care.
She has practiced in diverse settings, including schools, in-home therapy, and primary care. She received specialized training in health psychology as related to acute and chronic medical conditions, such as gastrointestinal disorders, somatic disorders, headache/migraine pain, chronic pain, diabetes, weight management, sexual disorders, sleeping difficulty, and cardiac conditions. Dr. Harmon also has experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), phobias, parenting consultation, and life transitions. She is especially interested in peripartum depression and parental emotional health.
Dr. Harmon received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Wheaton College and her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Health Psychology from William James College. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Charles River Community Health Center and her post-doctoral fellowship at Kerzner Integrated Care, Kerzner Associates, P.C..
